Jordan Protesters Hold Strong

(Al Jazeera English: 0600 PST, March 4, 2011) Demonstrators in Jordan are determined, as thousands continue to take to the streets of Amman for the tenth week.

 

Protesters are demanding political reforms, a constitutional monarchy, and a review of King Abdullah's future role in the country. But the government has thus far rejected calls for change. Al Jazeera's Nisreen El-Shamayleh reports from Amman.

Jordan Protesters Demand Change

(Al Jazeera English: 0349 PST, March 1, 2011) Pro-democracy protests sweeping across the Middle East and North Africa have also hit Jordan, where opposition groups have held demonstrations demanding greater political freedoms.

 

Activists in Amman say now is the perfect time for the king to give up some of his sweeping executive powers and establish a constitional monarchy in the country. Al Jazeera's Nisreen El-Shamayleh reports from Amman.
