Dear Mosiac, I had recently watched 'Democracy Now' and the interview(Amy Goodman)with Rick Rowley from Big Noise Films(excellant interview),talking about Sheikh Abu Risha,the ? new head of a Sunni tribal confederation/militia,in and around Ramadi etc,and how the American military were filtering money to arm the Sunni tribes VIA the Iraqi police force,with the permission of Gen.Petraeus and so ultimately,the permission of OUR Commander in Cheif,BUSH!
I knew there was ANOTHER reason Bush went to Anbar!I could SMELL it!
He wouldn't miss out on a'business deal'meeting,would he?
I remember thinking,"where has this Sheikh come from,seeing as none of the Iraqis interviewed had HEARD of him?"Even though Abu said he had met with Petraeus and various other military men(as seen in Rick Rowley's film)!
-What was his nationality? Saudi,Kuwaiti,Jordanian,Dubai,Bahraini etc?
-And,if this man was,in business(a building contractor),recently under contract to America,AND paid millions to'rebuild' areas of Anbar etc,WHERE are all those millions(perhaps)now, that he is DEAD?
-Who steps into his shoes(filled wih dollars),to continue to feed the flames of civil sectarian war?God forbid!
Rick Rowley was correct when he said,it was kind of chilling, that soon after his interview with Abu Risha,AND,on the day of Bush's speech,Abu Risha was murdered?

Again Mosiac,WHO was this Sheikh really,if some considered him "a myth" ? I got he impression he was a Emirate Arab? Maybe I'm wrong?
Where did he come from and who was he directly affliated to? Even though we probably know who was paying him to take on this 'building contract'!
Personally,I thought it was wonderful,culturally,to see on TV,the clip of the Sunni Tribal Dancing with the drums and traditional swords etc,in Iraq(with the Sheikh in attendance)
BUT, I also remember thinking,"Oh!Oh! that's like a red rag to a bull,to the Shiites,because I remembered that those wonderful Sunni tribal dances were also, historically,pre and post battle dances,to tease the enemy in the next camp and fire the heart for the coming fight,after the light of dawn.
So,on the one hand,it was wonderful to see it,but on the other,one could think it was a dangerous 'come-on' to any rivals!
And,sure enough,afterwards,we hear that Abu Risha is DEAD!
What a terrible shame that Islam and fellow Muslims should segregate themselves,still,by mortal tribal differences!
ANYWAY,Mosiac, WHO WAS ABU RISHA and where did he originate from?
