Like you say DF,a persons religion/faith should make no difference to their HUMAN-NESS,humanity,compassion and soul.
We are all just transcient,finite beings,passing through this experience,which is ALSO transcient and ever changing,with OR without our input.
We all shed the same red blood,all feel inner joy and deep pain equally.
And all are FALLIBLE,but if we follow good conscience and common sense in concentrating on UNITING instead of dividing,then we,as human beings CAN BE WONDERFUL TOO.
Because we all live on this beautiful big spinning ball,in a magnificent universe,and LITERALLY have nowhere else TO GO in our human life(earth is ALL we have so far),we can't afford to squander and abuse what we have or those with which we HAVE to share it equally. We are surrounded by nature,and NEVER really learn from it.
We assume we OWN it,but NATURE OWNS US.
It can take us or LEAVE us and still go on.
But we cannot do without IT!
But,it's our moral/ethical/legal DUTY too,to minimise EVIL and keep it in its filthy HOLE in the ground,and not let it take control the majority of mankind which is GOOD,caring and giving.
Evil is a necessary essential to provide a balance,and always remind us of what we HAVE TO KEEP FROM SPREADING further,and consuming the GOOD.That's common sense.
It is our DUTY to hold those who would commit harmful,painful acts,accountable and thereby provide a deterrant,to show those who would use and abuse that they will NOT GET AWAY WITH IT.
I have no sympathy or patience,for supposedly 'STRONG'entities inflicting suffering on WEAKER ones.

He never came near me OR MY friends again.

You can apply that to ONE individual OR a NATION/STATE.

As a Brit born in 1943 & an Americanized citizen as of the 1960's I am apalled by the history of our countries. There has been too much favoratism paid due to regrets for our terrible history in some instances & not enough in others. It is time to recognise that we have all made mistakes & that we need to try now to work together to bring about a better result for all. Please don't let the fanatics of the World prevail.
