I hope the inventors of this type of torture and who trains and desensitize the soldiers to do it, feels and felt the same, times 3 ,or, that they wake/woke up and admit their horrible act,pay the price of those orders,go to jail or depending by the responsibility level, loose all their assets ,which would obviously go to the abused and the families of the already deceased ; the higher the status of the abuser the longer the years of community service,they will have to work for those poor Americans that had and have ,the heart in the right place,the ones kept in the dark and often ignorant, because of much propaganda,one of pure fear,the ones that really don t know better,the ones that just don t get it and the ones that are aware and are totally uphold by it ,and , doing all they can to change the system with the tools they have. I hope that the God and Goddess are hearing my prayer,because is all for You ,all the ones that in a way or an other have been heart by bullies of all kind,may You all have so much love that your wound can heal as fast as a lighting in a summer storm

So far,NONE of the'DETAINEES',have been proven to be guilty,by concrete or circumstantial evidence or unco-erced testimony.
WE,the public already know WHERE and WHAT was done to these men(and women).
We know that their lives,health,emotions and sanity will never be the same again.
Now,if they had been found ABSOLUTELY guilty with indisputable,documented evidence,then after a criminal trial they should be MADE to serve life in confinement,at least.
BUT,none of them,who have been through such horrendous torture and abuse have so far been proven as guilty.

Binyam is being released from Guantanamo.He's probabaly almost dead,from hunger strike,and terrible psychological problems and he will never have children,bless him.
And,like Jose Padilla,he has endured EVERYTHING that America fought the War of Independence(from Britain) to get AWAY FROM.
Everything that they have been through is the opposite of what WE,in America,and OUR GOVERNMENT SWEAR to protect us,and all others AGAINST.
If we are to be a true,fair,transparent DEMOCRACY under the Rule of Law,it is OUR DUTY to not do to others as we would NOT HAVE THEM do to us.

Otherwise Barack Obama,you may as well be the ONE who did all these appalling things to UNLAWFULLY detained prisoners.
You(OBAMA),just like Bush,Cheney,Rumsfeld,Rice and the few bad Moroccans,Pakistanis,Jordanians,Egyptians,Syrians,Americans,Israelis,British etc,that TORTURED,and damaged for life these prisoners,might as well as wielded the scalpel,whip,broken bottles,faeces/urine,wooden batons(to name but a few) YOURSELF.
And Obama,some of the torture used on these humans,makes waterboarding look COMFORTABLE,in comparison. Many methods going back to the demonic,draconian,Spanish Inquisition.
We ALREADY know,mostly,what happened,where and by whom.It's widely documented already.
And,more information is coming out EVERY day.
Americans are learning what is being done to others in the name of "Democracy".
Obama,you PROMISED TRANSPARENCY and Rule of Law.
Don't keep America as a TERRORIST,as Bush/Clinton/Bush preferred us to be.
Don't threaten Great Britain and spout off about National Secrets that the PEOPLE KNOW OF ALREADY!
Seize the day. Honour the Rule of Law and Constitution. Respect DEMOCRACY and HUMANITY. Hold those responsible ACCOUNTABLE,in the public eye,and in court,especially those at the TOP of the chain of power who issued the orders.
Investigate.
Prosecute.
Close the books and never go there AGAIN!
Then,maybe America can hold its head up proudly again?
Until then,our Government will remain a COWARDLY hypocrit,and should expect no respect from outside GOOD CONSCIENCE Nations/States/Monarchies etc.

I don't who some body suggests to put aside the moral standings of a state, who claims to be democratic one, because of the "nation reputation".
If you care about your "nation reputation" really, then you need to acknowledge and then fix the past, unless the outside look of your state is the important issue and not the core this state built on; then yes you need to cover the past, even you could say: It didn't happened.

To balance a Democratic system one must have ACCOUNTABILITY for WAR CRIMES.
It is OUR DUTY,morally,ethically,legally to punish the perpetrators and give respectful closure to the victims.Otherwise we are hypocrits.
Nothing about accountability is pleasant.
But,it must be addressed,investigated,prosecuted and judicially,punitively closed.
If we DO NOT hold those,from the highest levels down,to account then we provide NO DETERRENT for the future.
We show that we CONDONE LAWLESSNESS and brutality,instead of truth,liberty and justice.
We cannot allow those who place/raise their hands,on their faith/law and according to the Rule of Constitutional Law,to PERJURE that SOLEMN oath,without being held accountable.
You do the crime,you do the time!
We can deal with TRUTH,and move on. National guilt festers,and stinks.Deal with judicially,cleanly and THEN MOVE ON.
We cannot move on WITH DECEPTION,or neglect.
There is NO TRUST,integrity,respect with deception and neglect.
For anyone who has read the legally documented accounts of the torture that was done to others,UNCHARGED,and WITHOUT solid evidence of criminal wrongdoing(and "waterboarding" was one of the 'soft' methods in comparison to others,believe ME),there would be NO DOUBT in their minds that it is OUR DUTY to hold the orderers/facilitators of such things ACCOUNTABLE,on trial and thrown in prison.
We must have a DETERRENT,and make sure it NEVER happens again.EVER!
If we ignore these crimes,we are morally,ethically,legally COMPLICIT in them.

I think Obama's agenda should be focused on the future of American policy, not sweeping up its past. Seeking accountability for the recent American use of torture will only alleviate the short term blemish on America's reputation. Shaping future policy, closing Guantanamo and other secret prisons, and ensuring that it does not happen again is more important than any symbolic court room show.

Has America resorted to torture in the name of the "War on Terror"? Scenes from Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo made many question whether we have damaged our democratic values and humanitarian ideals.
