'Welcome to Tehran'(part 1 and 2)was fantastic! I really enjoyed it.
More than anything it highlighted,to me,the SIMILARITIES between the present conservative governments in both the USA and Iran,and how they are both trying to control the life of the people,restrict their freedoms,limit(censor)their knowledge,and neuter the variety and richness of historcal cultures.
Both countries are bursting at the seams with people desperate for real freedom of mind,fun in life,and fairness of human rights.
Iran has as much poverty,drug-addiction,crime,prostitution,child/cheap labor,unfair division of wealth etc as the USA,and the rest OF THE WORLD!
If it weren't for greedy politics and selfish power,we could culturally,socially learn so MUCH from EACH OTHER.Forget the politics,it's the people that have so much in common! Every time the government "doctor" the photos in/on the media,they deny their people the freedom of REAL TRUTH and life!
At the end of part 2 of the documentary,the British reporter(who met some wonderful people)gives a very interesting final comment(before the update),on the situation in Iran(Tehran).
But,I swear,if you didn't know he WAS talking about Tehran,his words could well describe the situation right here and now in the United States,sadly!
Any positive changes,for the future,ARE in the hands of the people,in the end.
