Mai nella storia dei terremoti italiani avevamo assistito ad una ingiustizia tanto grande e ad un tale cumulo di menzogne che ha ricoperto L’Aquila più di quanto non abbiano fatto le macerie, come è accaduto in occasione del devastante terremoto che l’ha colpita e nel quale, nel giro di una trentina di secondi, tanta gente ha perso tutto, affetti, amicizie, casa, e molti anche il lavoro, per non parlare dei monumenti che rendevano unica la città. I agree,North America is better prepared and in the Italian case there are more things at play from the seismologist that predict it and was laugh at to new buildings or earthquake proof that actually crumbled

Do you honestly feel that the earth is 'fighting back' because of some wrong we've done it? I pray for the souls of the Italians who lost their lives but if there is any human fault it is living in an earthquake zone with unreinforced buildings.

The damage from an earthquake is quite predictable and depends on soil composition, proximity and building practices. One of the prices paid for living in period buildings is that they were built before quake reinforcement was the norm. A look at the relatively recent big quakes in California is an object lesson in design and preparedness.

We take so much for granted,I just lost people in it and is just our own doing
We take away green we abuse what we have and the earth will fight back
I cry for all those Italians that lost loved ones
I prey for all I ask God and Goddess to protect and help heal all the one effected
