I am a civilion, not a Vet, but I agree that grevious mistakes were made by the Administration which cost so many people their lives. I can't make reparation for the losses suffered, but, I can offer my support to those that followed the orders of their Commander in Chief at the time, however wrong it may have been.

I do not see where the discussion by Howard Zinn & others on the death of Macnamara today. It was said that "no one on the inside tried to stop the Vietnam War..." then the author on the war backpedaled a bit and cited Ellsberg as an insider against the war. Zinn properly gave some credit to "the people in the streets,... the movement that ended the war..." But no mention was made of us vets who stopped the war at great personal cost. The death of a few dozen from Kent State & Orangeburg & so many other places at home where the police state failed to repress peacemakers, street theatre people for peace, BUT IT WAS PEOPLE LIKE Lt John Kerry, Vietnam Veterans against the War who more than anyone made it increasingly impossible for Macnamara & LBJ & Nixon & finally Ford to let the mass genocidal war crimes to continue. It was the common foot soldier, the rank & file sailor & aircrewmembers who resisted, spoke out, many courts martialed, many present during fraggings & refusals to shoot one more innocent civilian or burn one more village that gave Macnamara "a conscience." Rumsfeld today has the blood of thousands of vets on his hands too. The Gilead Corporations, the bio & depleted uranium weapons gangsters from Boy Bush Deserter In Chief on down through Cheney, Negorponte, Col.Steele, Wolfowitz & so many other war criminals that must be brought to justice. Dow Chemical to Blackwater, Agent Orange to missing personal armor, electrocutions in showers, you name it, these murderous sub-humans of the Bush Crime Family all deserve to die in Leavenworth Prison, not a posh apartment like MacNamara. Just from the 1991 TANK rounds alone,the International Committee of Radiological Protection estimates(1991) 500,000 "potential deaths".That's not including the LARGER ordnance(weapons)dropped from US/UK planes.
And then there was 2003!
So now,when our troops and all the NEW victims in Iraq(2003) start dropping/dying with cancers,Leukaemias,sterility,infertility,lymphomas,asthma,internal bleeding ulcers,'lumps and bumps',you will know,possibly,where they GOT IT ALL!
Just try claiming from the medical insurance people/Veterans Groups etc when the Government denies you!
