The US ambassador to Iraq met with Saddam and he practically BEGGED her for help!
After EIGHT long years of defending Iraq AND KUWAIT,from Iran without a drop of Kuwaiti being spilled and Saddam being FUNDED TOTALLY BY Saudi(+the CIA) and KUWAIT,the US and KUWAIT finally stabbed Saddam in the economic back.
Kuwait was ALREADY STEALING Iraqi oil,for years,through SLANT DRILLING in the Basra fields(that's why no defined borders were ever drawn).
Then after Iraq fought off Iran for 8 BLOODY YEARS(and defending Kuwait too) Kuwait immediately called in it's debts from Saddam(and guess who encouraged them? yes! the US and CIA).
READ VERY CAREFULLY,IN THIS ARTICLE,THE BUILD UP TO ALL THIS PRESENT DAY MESS and the meetings,and letters sent from Iraq(1990) to the US incuding April Glaspie's and you can see that although Saddam was no angel,but what the US and Kuwait did back to Iraq was worse. Because Iraq was ALREADY suffering under COLLECTIVE PUNISHMENT sanctions and the OIL FOR FOOD deal that gave EXXON,Chevron(through European intermediaries,800,000 barrels a DAY of Iraqi OIL,in exchange for FEEDING IT'S PEOPLE.
THAT's a WAR CRIME just like IRAN-CONTRA!
