Fighting global warming and not seeing the full picture here will get us killed. Obama does not have any real plans to clean up the environment. They are increasing control of the people, not freeing us. Not one person in the government has a right to rule others. This is a power we have given them and it is not working out for us in the least.

By leaving it's future in the hands of economics and capitalism, the world has endangered it's future. Money-centric systems are not peak functioning systems because they seek to squeeze wealth out of everything first and foremost. On top of this we have a hierarchical system that gives the top too much influence over the people. Countries like America have begun to stagnate and will get creamed by more open-minded nations like in Asia. On top of this we have sent dishonorable business people and The Family types for a long time to places that see right through them. They may have found kindred spirits in corrupt people of those nations, but our ways have been without honor for far too long and now we shall see the results.

The institutions that got rich destroying this world need to be held financially responsible for cleaning it up. If that means businesses go under, that is not our problem.
When it comes to survival of the planet and species, you have no rights that overrule. You have basically killed us all over the last 150 years. You kept chipping away at the corners and now the mountain is going to slide down on us all. You stood in the way of the voices of reason for the sake of greed. Now you hide with your arse hanging in the breeze and think you can slip out of it. It's all comin' home to roost corporate world. You who once sat pretty in your towers will see the greatest fall of all. "Progress" now stands in the way of progress.

Market forces will never save the world from the degradation they have themselves caused. They are the greatest threat to national security we have ever had.

The republicans, oil companies and other profit mongers who stood to lose are behind the obstructionist view of Environmentalism. Take one look at where these people are now and extrapolate how screwed you people are. They are still running the show and their brainwashed followers are still spewing blindly.

I find it sad that global warming is now the only topic that is really getting much focus in the arena of the environment. We have a whole range of environmental issues that are important and potentially life threatening. Global warming is probably the only one they make money off of, with new tech, taxes, etc. The rest of the stuff actually costs lots of money to fix. And it is money that will be soon worthless if we don't spend it to fix this. Science is far from accurate sometimes and government is sluggish. Our eyes are showing us: NOW!

Filtering Carbon from the atmosphere is a quaint and important approach but far from the whole issue with the environment and even global warming. Save the earth or die humans.
