If you believe that allowing Bush to blackmail you by saying that he will not forward any further A/G nominees,OR if you believe that the Judiciary Dept.is drifting afloat without a leader,giving you the excuse to elect a suspect contender,rather than let Dick Cheney run amok,no prob',that's fine!(He should be in jail anyway!)
But just so you know! Your vote FOR Mukasey's nomination,HAS,DEFINATELY,JUST LOST THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY another 12 votes,for sure! Because we NOW know that Senator 'Chuck'Schumer and Senator Diane Feinstein ENDORSE TORTURE, WHICH IS ALREADY AGAINST THE LAW! You let your politics overshadow your moral/humane principles.
As Ted Kennedy quite rightly stated,Congress DOESN'T need to pass a 'motion' outlawing 'waterboarding'as torture,for Mukasey to endorse as the new A/G!
BECAUSE,waterboarding is ALREADY ILLEGAL as a known form of torture/controlled death,and ACTUAL drowning! By your denial of this(in your vote),you insult us all!
BUT,at least,now,we know where the Schumer,Feinstein(and all other endorsees) priorities lay.
