I am probably the oldest in this company, "The Ugly American" came to press in my senior year of high school. It wasn't until I was in graduate school in the university that U.S. youth woke up enough to begin the sort of protests that helped to end the Viet Nam war. And entertainment sources had their own roles, e.g., HAIR, etc. This current 'Bush' mess started out too quietly. I am so gratified now to see the youth of this nation already awake and speaking. And even without a draft!! I had to move from a progressive university city to a rural area with only DISH and DIRECT-TV to happen on Democracy Now, what public tv should have grown up to be! I can't understand why our nation has become so unresponsive to the public will! Maybe the public just doesn't have a will anymore. Thank heavens for our youth, may their patience last..........

Well if you want a wand lets walk back in time to a point that Bush senior failed the Middle East and when th Kurds were slaughtered in the thousands ..

Ladies and gentlemen ! bottom line WW3 in the name of greed for power and oil control . The sad thing about all this is oil will run out sooner then predicted because China is consuming a large amount. This reality calls for the need for newer and cleaner fuel supplies ...

The Governments must seize the moment in the name of humanity because there is so much that is being lost along with time as our world falls more and more into a decaying state of affairs along with our echo system ...

Stand now or fall later when the planet cannot be saved due to our carelessness.

And I see your point too!
One may not be able to reverse the effects of dumping terrible things like cluster bombs and depleted uranium on ANYONE,BUT it is vital to make sure that those responsible for ordering the damage are held accountable THEREAFTER,by the people.
And,for each count of inhumane damage,a count of HUMANE JUSTICE is served.
After reading books like 'Beyond the Green Zone-Dispatches from......occupied Iraq',by Dahr Jamail, which is emotionally difficult to read, but essential,I am heart-broken and ashamed that America is in the hands of such hypocrits, because they do not represent the American people,as a whole.
I,so,wish I had a magic wand to reverse events,but ...?
Peace,Salaam,Shalom!

Unfortuniatly, there are some plots of ground that just can't be restored...ground that has been poisened by polution either on purpose by dumping toxic waste that the military has made or just by over working the ground - Remember the "Dust Bowl". I do get your point though.

I beg to differ! Some of the damage that has been done IS reversable!By hard work, sincerity and rebuilding bridges of trust.
The Iraqi people must understand that ordinary Americans do not support what is going on there, and many have been misled by lies and propaganda, fed by politicians and biased press. If we call this "damage" irreversable, then men like Bush and Cheney etc have won!And just because ANY damage has been done,DOES NOT mean that the bad guys should not face their accountability. There is no time limit on attempting to right the wrongs.Unless,of course, one doesn't give a damn.
America should be assisting(and financing)the Iraqis to rebuild everything that has been destroyed(utilities, resources, hospitals, schools, markets etc),and rebuild it,AS THE IRAQI PEOPLE WANT IT!After all it is their home, and America abused it's welcome there! And after the rebuilding,America should leave Iraq AND it's resources, and only go back IF FORMALLY and diplomatically INVITED.
Bad memories,of bad people may take longer to heal, and deaths will never be reversed.
But,if you are 'thegardener' then you should know that even after disaster life grows again, but only if you have the strength and determination.Or do you just give up and let the pests destroy it?
IF YOU CARE,TEND TO,AND FEED THE SOIL AND ROOTS,the garden will grow again.
And sometimes,with luck,the regrowth,IS BETTER!
Peace,Salaam,Shalom!

What good would this do now?? The damage they have caused is irreversable--but they have satisfied their greed in taking another country's resouces. This Gov't has had evil intent from the beginning, nothing has really changed. But the bottem will fall out eventually.

Absolutely! Then Bush. Seeking justice is NEVER a waste in a TRUE DEMOCRACY!
Kudos to Dennis Kucinich for his comments on 'Democracy Now' this morning,to Amy Goodman. He speaks for the majority of Americans polled, who believe that Cheney/Bush should be impeached, for war crimes.I believe that BECAUSE I love my country!
Shame on Nancy Pelosi et al, who believe it would take too long and cost too much to impeach? Who's side are you on Nancy?
How much has,and how many have,ALREADY been lost,BASED ON ALL THOSE BLATANT LIES, that moved OUR COUNTRY into a new 'hatred-of America'era, when it wasn't WHAT THE PEOPLE OF AMERICA WANTED! Just the Corporate 'mafia' vultures!
-As we move into the FIFTH YEAR of an illegal US occupation of Iraq,
-as more lives are lost,ON ALL SIDES!Men,women, elderly AND CHILDREN!
-As the American tax-payers money is misappropriated and our children are filled with false info and propoganda.
-As the stubborn Bush/Cheney 'WAR-MACHINE'focus remains on Iran(as planned),REGARDLESS of the wishes of the majority of American voters,
TELL ME!please, what better time or reason,IS THERE?
It's never too late for justice, and all the valid reasons and facts are there,to proceed.
SO,Impeach Cheney first,then Bush!
For God's sake, not both at once, that would PUT Pelosi in the Oval Office, and Congress is in ENOUGH of a cowardly mess ALREADY!
