The story of Lady Dai is kind of fascinating. No, that isn't a typo, and the attention given to English royalty is neither noteworthy nor deserved. Lady Dai is the name of a woman found at Mawagdui, an archeological site outside of Changsha, China, in Hunan Province.
Lady Dai is interesting because she is nearly perfectly preserved after 2,000 years, so well preserved that excavators were able to perform an autopsy. She died of heart disease, and also had diabetes. She was the wife of the First Marquis of Dai. (Equivalent rank – a Chinese noble can't have a French Title. That's against the rules.) An exhibit from Mawangdui will be at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, on loan from the Hunan Provincial Museum, so it might be worth a cash advance (see cash advance in details at:
http://personalmoneystore.com/Cash-Advance ) to see the exhibit and hear the story of Lady Dai.
