Hey. I've noticed that Amy Goodman on Democracy Now! has had a couple of guests (at different times) refer to a relationship of IBM to the Nazi regime in Germany. One of the guests was a woman who headed one of the ad-buster watchdog type organizations (but whose name and organization escapes me), and the other was Noam Chomsky during an extensive interview with Amy. They each mentioned this on different episodes that had nothing in particular to do with each other.
Anyway, I've read Kevin Black's landmark book, IBM & THE HOLOCAUST, as well as another of his books, THE WAR AGAINST THE WEAK (which deals with the history of the pseudoscience of eugenics). Both are mind-blowing, even to those probably who are well versed in the "crimes against humanity" department.
What to me is so salient about this particular issue is how it has been "kosher" for the media to publicize issues like Swiss Bank-relationship to the Nazi's, or the Bank of England's cooperation with the regime during WWII (both featured on the HISTORY CHANNEL), but the IBM connection has received comparatively scant coverage, and absolutely no television documentaries.
Although Black's book received rave reviews from both mainstream and prestigious areas upon its initial release, the attention given it since then has been practically null (which brings to mind the invasion of East Timor and the twenty-year media blackout after the Indonesian invasion).
I can only conclude that 1) this must have something to do with the fact that IBM is an American corporation rather than a European, Eastern, or Middle-Eastern entity, and thus is "off-limits"
and 2) that the rave reviews were just a pretense, and that the publications that published them were ready to drop the issue as quickly as they could if the population evinced no great interest.
In any case, I would love to see a documentary on Link-TV about this issue, and would happily contribute several thousand dollars toward the making of it. Previous documentaries that you've aired dealing with Israeli and middle east subjects, such as THE RINGWORM CHILDREN, have really touched on some great points that no one else (that I'm aware of) has ever mentioned. THE RINGWORM CHILDREN mentioned, for example, that some of the higher-placed Israeli government officials
has their own eugenics-based belief system: i. e. that there were superior and inferior Jews, and that the inferior Jews could be justifiably treated with less sensitivity than others -- and this was one factor that probably led to the use of radiation on immigrating Moroccan Jews for ringworm(!), but not on most of the other Jewish immigrants.
Any documentary dealing with IBM (or any other major American or Allied-Power corporation) that had a friendly relationship with the Nazis would be greatly appreciated!
