I am an internationally adopted child whose adoption went terribly wrong. I was adopted into Canada and was physically and sexually abused. The people that adopted me were found mentally unfit to adopt children in Canada. Yet they were able to adopt me privatly from India. The abuse I faced is undescribable.
I have just started an organization to help children like me. When adoptions fail we the children then suffer at the hands of the system with now where to turn. I liken it to the aboriginal children who were taken away and face abuse and lose there culture etc.. with nowhere to turn. The countries that adopt us out turn there backs on us that is why I have just started an organization called world orphans united legal defence so that no one else has to go through what I went through. I want a safety net for people like me so that we are protected when adoptions dont work out and there is help available. I ended up in foster care and then the adult son of my foster mother started having sex with me and got me pregnant. I was not the first foster child he had been having sex with but I ended up pregnant and married off to him instead of the social services charging him. I had no where to turn and faced many years of abuse at his hands and barely escaped with my life. This kind of stuff has to stop and I am making sure that this does not happen to any one else.
