I see nothing wrong with educating your people. Actually, I believe that the public option for education should have been done far in advance of public healthcare - say ten to twenty years, because many people are too stupid to understand that public healthcare is good for them and will drive down cost for everyone (i.e. the very crux of the problem in the US).
Increasing bandwidth to rural areas is not going to help, it will actually fuel conspiracy theories and the crazies will flood online propaganda like a fricken bath tub drain, which coud be counter-productive. I see nothing wrong with tackling the problem of urban environment education progress, or lack thereof. We will see a tide turning soon where African-American youth are surpassing white rural youth in educational skills within ten to twenty years if people don't start advocating education, instead of becoming anti-education and opt to keep their kids at home in fear of exposing them to "liberal" educations. "Liberal" educations are a good thing, and I don't know why the term "liberal" has become so toxic in the recent past.

The education reform planned by Arne Duncan and Obama is genocide on low income communities. First the No Child Left Behind Bill expired so why are our schools still held to those standards. No Child Left Behind failed tremendously, under that law public schoolhouses turned into jailhouses or where demolished. Privatizing education ignores the ills of our demographics because charter schools build in under resourced areas then bus in their select students. The Philadelphia School District promotes gang and welfare mentality by ignoring the Title 1 Laws and purposely blocking family and community involvement. There was a protest when Arne Duncan bias tour came to Philadelphia, Did any of you get to add your voice to the tour when it was in your city? Did you know that there was a tour?
