Yes! And,sadly,it also illustrates how upside down the phrase of "high-profile" is.
The people who receive the most media attention here, are often those who cast the a relatively insignificant and very fleeting shadow in global/historical terms.
The people, worldwide, who are conveniently 'forgotten',by the media, with their unjust injuries or death are often those who are struggling the MOST to fight for their rights, homes and freedoms and just to stay alive with virtually nothing to show for it.
But,I guess these are too many to fit into corporate censored'sound-bites'.
But,they are not forgotten!
Hey,why do you think more viewers have abandoned corporate garbage and are enjoying Mosaic/LinkTV etc more?
Keep it up Mosaic,we will "sustain" you!
You've just touched on a very important point. Unfortunately, the innocent remain faceless and nameless. This is not the first instance when the media failed to put a face or a name to the innocent bystanders killed on a daily basis in Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Iraq, Pakistan and so on. Another recent example was the assassination of General Francois Al hajj in Lebanon when 3 other people died in the explosion but barely got a mention.Yet, this is still not as bad as when the American media spends months covering one persons death like Anna Nicole Smith and ignores the deaths of thousands around the globe.
Dear Mosaic,
Th media has concentrated SO MUCH on Benazir Bhutto's death(understandably),and the perpetrator(s).
BUT,what happened to the other people who were travelling with her? Drivers, secretaries, aides, bodyguards etc? And what about the bystanders/supporters who were injured or worse?
Thankyou!
