Iheartisrael has a point of course, but only if one looks at the entire issue out of context. The Jews who lived in Palestine prior to the advent of the 20th century were accepted members of the society. What does a general population (of Arabs) do when an entire people invades your land, as happened in the first half of the 20th century? When the Zionists first showed up, like the American Indians, the Arabs welcomed them, but due to the arrogance and territorial aggression of the Zionists, even before the UN partition, the Arabs became disenchanted with the Jewish settlers.
World War One was given to the British by the German Zionists, who made a deal with the British to get both America and Russia in the war, in exchange for Palestine. (www.rense.com/general69/bjs.htm)
The Zionists have always had a vision of a greater Israel, one that includes the territory not only of the west bank, but also of Jordan, the Sinai, and portions of western Iraq.

This is the ancient Solomonic Empire, and the Zionists want it ALL BACK. They are prepared to do whatever it takes. The Zionists are responsible for the prolongation of WW One, with its millions dead, the Soviet nightmare, with its 60 millions murdered, World war 2, with its millions dead, (Both Roosevelt and Churchill were Jews, and Zionists:
http://judicial-inc.biz/Bush_Mossad11.htm )the rest of the Communist scourge, with untold millions murdered, and of course, the current wars of aggression in the Middle East, with their tally of millions murdered. Even if the six-million figure of Jewish deaths attributed to the Nazis were true, it is a paltry figure compared with the number murdered by the Zionists.
So the Arab nations didn't attack Israel in 1948 due to an isolated fit of racist
pique. They knew what Israel was attempting, and they saw an imperative need to defend themselves from a vicious invading force. What if the Chinese, based on their ancient records, which truly indicate they surveyed the Western cost of North America as early as 4000 years ago, decided that California should be a Chinese colony? Would we as Americans, just say, "Oh, sure, that makes a lot of sense! You're welcome to it!" Again, as foreign invaders ourselves upon this continent, does anyone demonize the American Indians for resisting that invasion to the best of their ability?
General Patton opposed the resettlement of Jews in Palestine. Judaism, he said, is a religion, not a race. It would be just as absurd to mandate a nation for all Catholics, or for all Presbyterians. Patton was assassinated for his troubles. His car was struck by a truck. When Patton did not consent to die immediately, the truck driver beat him with a metal pipe. When he still refused to die, he was poisoned in the hospital.

I admit that until just recently, I supported Israel. The process by which I changed my opinions developed like this:
1. I began to watch Mosaic. I was able, for the first time, to see real images of Palestine, and what "terrorists" looked like and did, and what the IDF looked like and did.
2. I watched the Lebanese war of 2006. I was shocked and horrified by the Israeli aggression.
3.I began to do my own research on the internet. I was able to piece what I learned together with my own observations and experiences. The conclusions I have drawn have completely changed my perceptions of the Zionist Entity, and that of the Palestinians who resist it with such a mixture of pathos and courage.
I think any American who does his/her own independent research into the issue of Zionism, and who keeps both an open mind and a sense of moral truth will discover that their opinions of Israel will shift in a radical way, as mine did.
