I'm not surprised McCain had a slip of the tongue.It's probably because his brain is completed disconnected from its stem! It was a scary enough thought to imagine our country in the hands of a President with Alzheimers Disease(Reagan,bless his cotton socks).
McCain may have been a decorated POW/Vietnam vet,but he has AGED A LOT,since then,and ALREADY I doubt his level of judgement,rationality and diplomacy isn't up to Presidential standard.Heck,he hasn't been DIAGNOSED with anything either,YET!
Unless,there is something the other elephants are NOT telling us? (WINK WINK)

Well, I've gotten my yearly snag for Jury Duty--arrggh. Maybe if I tell them I am a racist they will let me off.

I heard a awful joke one of the channels, "Obama is crying for change, that' all we need if he gets in the White House is another poor n..... asking for change".

Did you hear Mccain's slip of the tongue? saying he's a "liberal Conservative". I think what we have hear is a failure to communicate. I wonder about mCcain's mental competence, he must have spent too much time talk with the president the last seven years. The choices for voting are pretty slim.

I guess I better keep growning my own food. I am thankful my chickens are still lay eggs! I noticed the price of eggs and other dairy has gone way up.

I don't see how the gov't can afford to have a fair election when their greed is driving up the prices of everything. When is the @#@# going to hit the fan for once and for all. When are they going to force that little chip on us or is it --in us??

You know it's bad enough to be aware of the corruption and mishandling that already riddles the American National election system and threatens the validity of every American citizens precious vote and voice.
But it is really worrying to hear that election station/precinct volunteers are often not trained enough or adept in explaining to others,OR UNDERSTANDING THEMSELVES,the very system that is supposed to protect each and EVERY vote from misuse and abuse.
Whether the system of voting be done on paper or touch machine,if Americans need tuition in how to vote correctly and safely,THE PEOPLE who volunteer their valuable time and energy must be informed and confident that they can mentor those WHO DON'T KNOW,not to mention those who are still scared or intimidated by an UN-NECESSARILY complex system!
The last time I voted,there were some wonderful people volunteering at the precincts,BUT MANY ADMITTED THAT THEY hadn't voted for years THEMSELVES(wonder why?) and did not fully understand the technology(not like the old days when you just marked a piece of paper). Many were very elderly,and despite enthusiasm tired very quickly aswell.
If my elderly mother were asked to volunteer,she would say very honestly say,
"I'd love to,because I care about who is running my country.But,my eyesight is bad,I'm deaf as a post,my memory is not as sharp as it was,and I know NOTHING about computers! Are you sure I'm the right person to guard your vote"?
So,if we have Jury Duty WHY NOT HAVE ELECTION DUTY?
Where RANDOMLY SELECTED CITIZENS,regardless of class,race,faith OR political affiliation are REQUIRED by law to serve their country/State by being ELECTION SERVERS every four years? They can be covered by the same health exemptions as Jury Duty Service and if working can be paid an 'inconvenience'fee for their short time served away at the polls! They should have a clean felony record and preferably not have been previously indicted for FRAUD AND EMBEZZLEMENT LOL!
Is it not the DUTY OF ALL voters to protect and defend the working of a fair and transparent electoral system? Is it not the duty of us all to make sure our votes are protected and respected and RECORDED correctly,ONE PERSON ONE VOTE?
I see many Americans who are loosing the interest and incentive to vote for their country,because their morale IS SO LOW and they believe that their votes ARE ALREADY WORTHLESS! God Forbid!
This is tragic enough.But,should the voters decide that they are sick of the recent 'carnival' of politics and sick of seeing the Constitution and Bill of Rights etc 'stomped'on and decide that NOW(as is being witnessed)is the time to go down and have their say with their vote,THEN,the electoral system that awaits them must be confident,knowledgable,safe and secure.
I would be happy to do my mandatory electoral service,jury duty and NATIONAL service! It's the least WE CAN DO, as citizens in a Democracy.
But ANY HONEST vote is useless if the SYSTEM is weak,disorganized,under-manned OR CROOKED in practise. America REALLY needs to upate it's system and spend money on its honesty and function.
Jury Service? YES!
National Service? If need be!
National Election Service? Absolutely! Protect those votes! They are INVALUABLE!
