Is the American voter system the best in the WORLD?

Is this a trick question or what?

As an over fifty Black man in America, I can't even feel comfortable about answering the question that's been posed because every aspect of life for me and my people take on a different perspective than the main stream. I view my presence within the American socio-politico/economic system as a marginalized gift serving as a remedy for the guilty consciences that exist for all the wrong we've suffered and continue to suffer. When Racists like Rush Limbaugh, Anne Coulter, Sean Hannity and the like are given opportunity to incite hate towards "me" because of the color of my skin, while any comment by Louis Farrakahn invokes a demand for a verbal outrage to determine a Black's validity as a viable candidate for public office, or deliberately deceitful claims by other candidates as to the religious affiliation of the Black candidate to Muslim Extremists in an effort to strike fear in the hearts of the voting public to insure the maintenance of the status quo, and finally to marginalize any effort to bring this oligarchy into the twenty-first century and give this country a chance for survival with all the people being treated equally as human beings> If these are the characteristics of a partially good voter system, then the potential that America has will NEVER be reached!! "A HOUSE DIVIDED AGAINST ITSELF CANNOT STAND!!!" And, as long as the color of a man's skin can be an obstacle to his birthright (whether you admit it or not), progress, truth, and justice will never have a place here and the groundwork for stolen future elections will grow even stronger.

Hear! Hear!
Do away with the electoral college,pledged/super delegates who are after ALL ordinary citizens and should be as HYPE-less as the rest of us. National elections are not a poker game!
Do away with caucuses too, no-one should be politely 'harassed' into dealing their vote. And the few should NEVER decide or the majority!
Let each voter do their own research on each candidate and then BE ALLOWED to follow their conscience IN PRIVATE!
Do away with all double voting systems like Texas with its ridiculous 'two-step'.

If America is a country,of,by and for the people let all States vote AT THE SAME TIME,in the main election eg. Friday noon through to Sunday noon.
AND PLEASE,stop using the corporate 'newspeak' channels as campaign channels,it's just another reason to NOT WATCH THEM.
The American election system is SO UP THE SPOUT one would think it was 50 different COUNTRIES voting, not ONE Nation!
Every individual State should have THE SAME National Federal voting rules and regs as all 49 others.
Enough of all this spin crap,"As Ohio votes,so votes the Nation" etc,
it's demeaning to other States who are just as proud of their COUNTRY.
And,follow the same practise i.e. paper ballots WITH LEGAL PAPER receipts to confirm that each vote has not been abused,or flipped etc.
Anyone using purging, caging and other fraudulent election behaviour, should be charged as felons, arrested and tried for abuse of the Constitution and citizens rights!
I have seen MORE fair and Democratic elections in Western Europe and Canada, than I EVER saw in America,YET.
But,I'm optimistic that America can move to a better system.
The system,Nationwide, can be uniform, safe, honest and transparent not to mention MUCH cheaper instead of this extortionate wasting of money and blatant corruption that we have now.

Let the parties pick who they want in one big day of primaries, then a few months later have the people vote in the main election. No pledged delegates or superdelegates allowed, and no electoral college either. We pick our President based on what the majority of people want.

After the elections of 2000 and 2004, the U.S. voting system has been thrust into the spotlight. What do you think about the cracks in the system? What parts of the world have a better system, and why?
