Dear Acepilot:

Regarding your comment:

"Those that the film makers picked for the Right were not nearly as articulate, impressive, or intelligent. Those on the Left made those on the Right look like stupid, arrogant, uncaring robots."

Maybe we’re not on the same page in terms of who you consider to be on the Left or Right, but if by Right, you mean people on the business side of the equation, we tried to get the highest level people who would talk to us about the work they do.

Some people were chosen for the relevance of their experience to a story we were telling, or a unique perspective they could offer, like the corporate spy, the commodities trader, the undercover marketing expert, and the woman who worked for the ad firm that markets to children. They’re all very articulate, candid, story tellers. I am indebted to all of them for sharing their experiences and points of view. They all help the audience understand a little better the constraints people have to deal with who work in and for the corporate world.

Your description also does not fit others I presume you would put on the Right end of the spectrum, which all struck me as an extremely well-spoken, thoughtful individuals: the CEO of Goodyear Tire, the former chairman of Shell, the CEO of Interface (a billion dollar company), the CEO (on the 2 disc DVD only) and Vice-president of Pfizer, the CEO of Burson-Marsteller, a VP of IBM (we tried for the CEO but he wouldn’t agree to be interviewed), the CEO of Landor and Associates, the biggest branding firm. We spoke to the Director of the Fraser Institute, a very influential right-wing think tank, and the top guy at a pro-business lobbying firm who let us tag around with him at the Quebec Summit. From academia, we included the Director of the Center for Business Govt., at the Kennedy School at Harvard. We even included Milton Friedman and Peter Drucker!

The film has a thesis and a point of view, obviously, but all the people we interviewed were treated with courtesy and respect. Which is more than you can say for some interviewers on Fox. The business world has its say 24/7 through advertising and through a plethora of business-oriented programs brought to you by business-oriented networks. This film is one of the handful that offers a critical point of view and has reached a substantial audience.

Perhaps your generalized critique is better aimed at the philosophy of the Right than its messengers.

Hey Acepilot! Hope you had a good 4th! I take it you didn't like the 'The Corporation'? That's fine, that's your choice.A program is only there to promote a theme, whether general OR specific. It's up to the viewer to watch, listen and interpret/decipher the meanings and come to their own conclusions.I'm too old and have traveled and seen too much to follow one 'plotted flight path',especially when all themes are multi-faceted,relative to one's situation in life.
Bear with me,but as I get less muscular in life,I get more philosophical and use more imagery!
And it doesn't matter where I'm from.As long as I can read ALL points on the compass, and choose which direction is the correct one, ethically, morally and respectfully, for all. As they say,the only thing constant in life,is change! That's why there are no more dinosaurs, except for dead ones right? Although they KEEP digging 'em up!
You,as an "acepilot" should know that, you can plan your flight path, and put it on auto-pilot. But,what happens when conditions change? Are you still going to fly into a storm risking the lives of you and your passengers,or would you choose to take a safer, calmer route for you AND all your passengers! Now come on,be honest'acepilot',do you head for the lightning,or find a path around it,for the sake of you(your country),your passengers(the citizens)AND your plane(Democracy)? Or do you just fly'solo',regardless?
Right now,I see many(not all)Corporations'flying solo',on auto-pilot,REGARDLESS of storms ahead, many of which are manufactured anyway,NOT as a result of Nature!
As for myself,I'm not interested in being ONLY right, left OR centrist etc, that's too much of a mono-tone monologue! And,I watch, and listen to MANY channels, with many viewpoints, all of which have their lil' itty-bitty biases and faults showing through.
But,not many offer alternatives,to stimulate the populus imagination away from robotic fantasy and back to reality.
By the way,if you're an "acepilot",you know you can't plot a flight path based on lies,'coz' you'll just crash and burn. And it's only liars that hide,"behind words like "truth". Honest people, with ethical and moral principles,STAND IN FRONT of words like "Truth",because it's JUST and correct, for all!
But,at the end of the day, duh duh...I HAVE THE ALTERNATIVE! It's called a "remote Control",and all you do is press the button! Ain't Democracy grand?
See you around on the other channels too,but if you get a pang for LINKTV acepilot, yawl come back now,yu' hear!
Have a safe flight!Peace!Salaam!Shalom!
It's going to be hellishly hot today,so time for some mint tea! Chocs Away!acepilot, LOL!

Hi Grassroots,

I am not sure where you are from, but if you think for one second that "The Corporation" is anything but a straw man argument I would beg to differ. The people from the Left were brilliant, smart, top scholars in their fields and noted people of importance. Those that the film makers picked for the Right were not nearly as articulate, impressive, or intelligent. Those on the Left made those on the Right look like stupid, arrogant, uncaring robots. This is the same tactic that Fox News uses when it skewers the Left, and quite frankly, its embarassing to see LINK stand behind such a farse. It would be a stretch to say that those behind the film wanted to make this a fair fight, it was closer to fiction than reality. Despite what you might think, that movie was anything but a documentary. More like a hit job. How blatantly one-sided can one show be? Well I guess thats a theme running at LINK. I have an idea, instead of hiding behind words like "truth" and "alternative" why dont you save everyone the trouble and just come out and say that this channel promotes socialist and communist ideals? It would save everyone a lot of time, because its obvious thats what is going on here.

Dear LinkTV,that documentary(The Corporation)is EXCELLANT,and very troubling aswell, because it very clearly outlines the damage to,America's very roots of true Democracy by allowing, what SHOULD BE an ethical moral Government with it's focus on 'By,For and Of the people',to be usurped and abused by amoral,unethical,self-serving 'businesses' who act,REGARDLESS of the people, and OUTSIDE the law, because our Rule of Law and Freedom of Speech, the press etc is being 'rewritten' by CORPORATE LAWYERS within an increasingly Corporate Government.
SCARY, AND VERY UNCONSTITUTONAL,AND BLATANTLY an insult to the Bill of Rights,in other words, the nemesis of a True Democratic America!
The Documentary has some excellant speakers, with a great variety of comments and theories, and facts.
How on Earth, can ordinary American people, with conscience, trust their Government, when we are witnessing, right now a huge example of Corporate-Controlled administration/Government. I have lost all faith in the Bush admin.but hang on to a hope that whoever comes in next, will clear the air of that stink of lies and corruption, that has been blatantly thrown in the faces of the American people, the voters,THE GRASSROOTS,without whom, the Corporations would starve.
I love my country and am sick of seeing it in the hands of an amoral 'Corporate'linked administration, whose VERY principles are the opposite of those in our Constitution and Bill of Rights, therefore AGAINST true Democracy!
None of what is happening now can bode well, internationally, for the future of the citizens of America, but perhaps that's not a priority on the 'BUSH-CRONEY AGENDA'.
I remain realistically optimistic that, surely, things can only get better? But there is going to be one heck of a mess for the people to clear up! And that's just here!
Thanks LinkTV! Keep 'em coming!

As Ray Anderson(of 'Interface')said,Trust between buyer and seller, means an honest market-place".
