This is an ultimate PTSD survivor film - where the victim overcomes his fear and forces open the truth about the war, the decision makers, the crimes and individual responsibility. He has a total right to compel the criminals (even sick old men, surrounded by their middle class families) to come clean...for the future generations in Japan and the world who are being fed the same propaganda glorifying war and conquest by an elite who will use the gullible and powerless to pursue their ambitions. I wish every nightmare-driven GI from the meatgrinder of Iraq could see this documentary and perhaps be moved to camp outside the offices of the mass propaganda machines who pounded the drums for war and then pursue the boot-licking officers and craven politicians who used the invasion for their own profit.
Of course the 'hero', a lone scrawny survivor from a hell-hole unit stationed in New Guinea, who managed not to be 'eaten' by his officers and comrades...would be a messed-up wannabe Yakuza missing his pinky and serving time for lobbing Pachinko balls at the Emperor...What do you want? Rambo? John Wayne? War is really messy and the lowly soldiers ultimately end up as a kind of moving meat locker for their superiors when they can't catch enough natives. Building an empire is clearly not an imperial tea ceremony!

Imagine one very old man attacking another old man over events 40 years old. This truth seeker, main subject of this documentary is ruly off his rocker !
One more thing to live in fear of...devine retribution by a special messenger of a God.
