It is always heart-breaking to see innocent life lost,especially when it can be avoided with REASON,FAIRNESS,HUMANITY and CIVILITY.
The American Company name "CATERPILLAR',has more to do with just CONstruction, plowing fields and reaping crops,SADLY and unforgivably.
For years,it has been associated with death and DEStruction against the Palestinians and used also in killing American citizens AND OTHER Nationals,including Europeans who attempt to walk the road of peace and stand fast for peoples rights in Gaza.
The Palestinian man who,sadly and tragically,drove the Caterpillar into Jerusalem,killing or injuring innocent bystanders is INSTANTLY labelled by Israel and on PUBLIC MEDIA(BBC,AP ETC) a "terrorist",committing a "terrorist act".
But we must stop,briefly,here and think and remember!
What then,of the Israeli-paid Caterpillar drivers who commit the SAME "TERRORIST ACTS" against Palestinians,Americans and Europeans in Gaza/West BANK et al?
Israel IS supposed to be a "Democracy" right?
What's bad for one should be bad for the 'other',right?
"Democracy" doesn't allow for double-standards, right?
Democracies should NOT support terrorism,right?
So, does this NOW MEAN that Israel will admit on the PUBLIC media that:
-the drivers who drove the VERY SAME CATERPILLARS that murdered American citizen Rachel Corrie,by driving straight over her own fragile young body,will ALSO BE LABELED "TERRORISTS",committing "terrorist acts",
-that Isreal,by PAYING THEIR OWN Caterpillar drivers,are therefore COMPLICIT in "terrorist acts"?
By allowing their drivers to drive over,and squash,European and American activists,leaving their bodies in the mud and rubble of the Gaza ethnic cleansing,and not bringing ANYONE TO BE ACCOUNTABLE,because it was ONLY a,
"VERY REGRETABLE INCIDENT"!

We are ALL equal in the eyes of God,RIGHT?
So,how does Israel justify labelling a Palestinian man driving a Caterpillar in Jerusalem and taking innocent life AS A "TERRORIST",yet,label scores of VICTIMS,(Palestinians and Foreign Nationals)in Gaza,as merely,"VERY REGRETABLE INCIDENTS"?????
This whole DOUBLE-STANDARD ISSUE is getting way OUT OF HUMAN-RIGHTS control!
This is very awkward for American diplomats too,who ESPOUSE to respecting equal rights and Democracy,but have IGNORED OR DENIED Isreals double-standards previously and PRESENTLY.
WHY? Because they would be COMPLICIT!
They cannot OPENLY admit to DOUBLE-STANDARDS,being "Democratic" politicians? SURELY?
How will American spokespersons respond,to this latest Jerusalem based, "regretable incident",knowing full well,that the American Caterpillars have been abused by the Israelis to kill American(and European)citizens as well as Palestinians?
Where does the CATERPILLAR stand on the 'Road-Map to Peace'?
Or does it depend on WHO IS DRIVING IT???
Will the world media report on the PALESTINIAN man FAIRLY?
Or just accept the "terrorist" label and conveniently forget EVERYTHING ELSE?
Did he have HIS home destroyed and family killed or maimed(physically,psychologically and emotionally) by the VERY SAME Caterpillars?
Did he return home one day,in the past,to find his family home and ALL HIS BELONGINGS left in a pile of rubble,maybe with his childrens bodies laying beneath?
What happened in Jerusalem is tragic for sure.
BUT,how do we legally,morally and ethically,justify that as "terrorism" and label the HUNDREDS of EXACT SAME INCIDENTS in Gaza and other Palestinian areas as "Very regretable INCIDENTS"(emphasis added)??
And with these double standards,I dread to think how this will effect the present 'calm'?
Is this the excuse Israel is looking for to rain down more mayhem and ethnic cleansing in Gaza?
