Dear All:
Yesterday we lost a legend in contemporary urban music. Mr. Isaac Hayes died yesterday at his home in Tennessee (U.S.). He was known for laying the groundwork for urban contemporary music. He has won Grammys and Academy Awards for his song "Shaft" named after the 1971 motion picture "Shaft". Hayes has been credited for being a pioneer in music and creating a soul sound that inspired and influenced many of today's performers. He was a true unique musician, singer, and show entertainer. His shows were amazing, stylish, and very very cool; which mimicked his songs.
To see his live 1973 performance of "Shaft" with special appearance by the Rev. Jesse Jackson (he is the announcer in the video), please go to www.crest31.wordpress.com. This article will be on the front page of my blog Crest 31 for a week.
