Consider the following:
1. Sarkozy wants a New Roman Empire, the Mediterranean Union.
2. Al-Qaeda is a creation of Mossad/CIA. Now it is either a Frankenstein, having escaped control of its creators, or it is still an instrument of US/Israeli policy.
3.The destabilization in the Caucasus seems counter-intuitive- did the US and Israel really make a miscalculation of unimaginable proportions? It seems that not only have they lost the Trans-Caucasus pipeline, but perhaps Turkey is gone as an ally, and they are saddled with Georgia, a friend who precludes the need for enemies.
4.The deathbed vigil for Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac continues... When the death certificates are signed, the cornice holding back the avalanche will have broken. Watch for the most catastrophic deflationary event in world history to explode around us.

To comment on the above in reverse:

If Rome is to rise again, the entire world balance of power must be broken. The collapse of the US economy was the first thing that had to be engineered. Like the thermite charges placed on the supporting columns of the World Trade Center Towers,
the financial charges placed on the underpinnings of the American economy were carefully considered beforehand. When the charges are detonated (Fanny & Freddy) watch the world economy to collapse at free-fall speed.

Russia will expend enormous sums to protect itself- and she will destroy herself doing so- at least that is the theory. To fight wars and to expand an arms race in the face of a global deflationary depression- who wants to try? But the only explanation I can find to explain the otherwise irrational Israeli/US sponsored attack on S. Ossetia is this.

Al-Qaeda continues to act perfectly, whether Frankenstien or Manchurian Candidate (it matters not), as the perfect destabilizing catalyst in the Middle East. As the ME goes, so goes the world power alignment. If the region can be destabilized completely, then someone (at the appropriate time) gets to step in and assert control-

Why Algeria? Does this have anything to do with the Bouteflica government cozying up to the US?

Two days in a row this week car bombs rocked towns near the capital of Algeria, killing 60 members of the security forces, police recruits, and Canadian workers. The North African wing of the al-Qaeda terror network, known until last year as the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat, has claimed responsibility for the recent attacks. The group has also claimed several earlier attacks including the twin suicide bombings of United Nations offices and a court building in the Algerian capital last December.
