Well, yes, she's an answer to Hillary, but the WRONG answer. Her political stances couldn't be much further away. She IS the answer for the republican base of evangelicals who will LOVE her. I find it a polarizing choice, and hopefully one that defeats McCain. She really is of the Bush ilk, that same righteous polarizing wierd type of, I'm very sorry, Christian. After her bull dog with lipstick crack, I now have her pictured as a lip stick wearing rabid bull dog for Christ, who will walk with the old guard McCain along the fortress of the old paradigm, trying to keep everyone safe the old ways. Clearly, we are not safe with the old ways, the old paradigm is waning.

What I fear will happen because she's such a radical right winger is that there weill be a divisive mobiliztion between those who cannot tolerate such ultra- neo-con person one heartbeat away from the presidency, and those who'll desperately want her there. With this choice, the republican party under the current John McCain is choosing the extreme right over the country's needs. I don't find it having anything to do with the Johm McCain I liked back in 2000, who actually was rather moderate and stood in the face of the republican party's extreme right wing Christian conservative agenda. Unfortunately, that john McCain got clobbered. The hero who would have tempted me would've continued to stick to his beliefs. I believe the republican political philosophy has a perspective that could offer much to the country in a real debate. I am really disappointed in the nonsense-as-usual decision of JMcC to walk away from what this country really needs in a stategic bid to get elected. This isn't about "country first" by any means.

I don't think she's qualified to be anywhere near the White House, and her positions on all the important things our country faces are ... would be devastating for us. I hope it becomes clearer and clearer as the days pass, when the rhetoric dies down and we get into the nitty gritty, and all the stuff she's done like trying to ban books from the library after she became mayor, like allegedly trying to get her x-brother-in-law fired,like wanting creationism taught in schools - let alone continue the policies to end public education. I'm VERY sorru to hear about the arial wolf hunting --- what a horror!

To me, really, this decision of McCain's doesn't make him a maverick, it makes him a betrayer of what he used to stand for, of himself. He's sold his soul for the election, and that's a McCain first decision, not country first.

I wish him well, just not in the White House!

He was a republican voter and EVEN HE SAID that the Republicans that were 'occupying' the RNC right now,and running for office, ARE about as DANGEROUS AND UNAMERICAN as you can get.

He was right on point when he outlined that the parties were ABUSING PATRIOTISM by THEIR VERY OWN ACTIONS. For a start they gave the impression of 'blind-faith' delegates at the Convention,what else ARE THEY going to say? They have to sign a gag order for ANY 'anti-party' statements,as an ENTRY qualification,don't they? LOL!

One interviewee mentioned how Palin has fought corruption,yet she is,HERSELF, involved in UNETHICAL USE OF POWER OF OFFICE in the 'troopergate' issue.
The other mentioned a 'feminist' stance.Which is VERY TUNNEL-VISIONED when looking at what makes a world leader GREAT!
The fact that someone should be THRILLED ONLY that a nominee should have the same gynaecological make-up as them,and thereby ignores ALL OTHER qualifications(or DISQUALIFICATIONS)for the NATIONAL and International position of V.P.
Now that IS SCARY!
The other one mentions Palins stance on anti-abortion,yet Palin EVEN AS AN EVANGELICAL hasn't had the sense to bring her daughter up to understand readily available contraception,i.e. 'wrap it up before sticking it in' LOL!
And of course,NOW the poor girl has had THAT option stripped away because of the media spotlight(wouldn't want to UPSET the party loyalists),so whether ole' Levi 'slap yer puck' wants to OR NOT,he's getting married,because he DIDN'T wrap it up or pull out before the 'bomb' went OFF!! LOL!
My friends in Alaska are SPIRITUALLY conservative,and TEND TO LEAN to center-right of common-sense and science.They are not HOWEVER,POLITICALLY SERVILE TO ONE PARTY OR ONE FAITH,AMEN!
They take the National and International issues effecting the USA,and vet which of the candidates in ANY ELECTION can best serve the Nation as a whole,and protect the Nation collectively!
