Everyone should be kind and respectful to everyone, no matter what thier beliefs are but same sex marriage - no way.
God created marriage. Courts issue civil partnerships. Bibles should not be in courts and marriage licenses should not be issued by courts. Lets get some real separation of church and state going.
Maybe it only seems like they are cramming it "down your throat" because they have waited SO LONG,to be treated like the EQUAL,NORMAL human beings that they ARE!
Humans should not judge something that's different, especially if it does NO HARM to them, when we are ALL equal in the eyes of God.
The rest is just human OBJECTIONS for subjective reasons.
I bet MEN were sick of seeing women fighting for their EQUAL RIGHTS?
Until women won their rights and DIDN'T NEED TO FIGHT SO MUCH thereafter.
Never fear S AND G! You don't have to LIVE THERE! LOL!
Besides,they never WENT AWAY!
They're just ALWAYS popular on prime time MSM,and MAKE A LOT OF moneyfor the corporate media/movie companies! lol!
Retraction: I guess I have it bass-ackrards. Its no on 8 to bring about S & G Part II...whatever- I just want those types to stop their pissy whinny attitude.
I kind of hope Prop 8 will pass then all the prescious alternate lifestyled people will stop their whinning because they will have received what they think they want.
Although, If history is correct in seemingly repeating itself--then it will bring about Sodom and Gomoria Part II... I am not a "homophobe", but I don't like their lifestyle being crammed down my throat in making me accept it.
absolutely not. it is degrading the morale structure of America and I'd hate to see the rest of the world have to deal with it.from what I've the American government was based with religious values and now that bi and homo sexuality is being accepted its ruining the foundations on what the government was built on.
Yes!
Marriage is first and foremost an agreement between two people to support and look out for each other. Many heterosexual marriages are based on things other then love and family, and if a man and woman just live under the same roof for an extended period of time, in most states, they are considered married by common law.
There are many people in home sharing and apartment sharing situations where things like love, marriage, and S-E-X have nothing to do with it. We should have laws to protect the rights and property of all people in cohabitation situations no matter what the gender mix?
I think its the 'signs of the times' for 'gay marriage' to be legalized. I don't agree with it, but the direction society is going, its bound for legalization...
That precious piece of paper has caused lots of problems over the centuries and now its going to cause even more with this issue being pushed for acceptance.
Gay marriage shouldn't be illegal. That part is easy. I find the question; Which restroom should transvestites use more complex. By banning something based on religion, that is the definition of NOT keeping church & state seperate.
Abner Mason was simply nauseating, but very predictable, coming from Log Cabin, the group that has time after time betrayed the interests of LGBT people and human rights generally. Mason was deceptive about McCain's and Obama's position's on "gay marriage" being "identical."
While both candidates are sadly not in favor of marriage equality, there is a world of difference in their positions on domestic partnership and the gamet of human rights that should be available to lesbian, gay, bi, and transgendered people.
Short of marriage, Obama is supporting our rights down the line, while McCain has embraced a "states choice" position, a scary position indeed. A state could concievably decide to round us up and put us in camps, and taking McCain's position to it's logical conclusion, that would be the state's call.
Now that McCain is cow-towing to the extremist Christian evangelical movement with his selection of Sarah Palin as his VP choice, let there be no doubt where McCain stands. And let there be no doubt that the Log Cabin (Gay) Republicans are collaborators in the right wing republican attack on the human rights of LGBT people.
A former president of the Log Cabin Republicans (gay and lesbian supporters of John McCain) speaks out about gay marriage and putting "country first": http://www.linktv.org/video/2927.
One of the hot topics this year at the Republican National Convention is same-sex marriage. Legal in several countries and U.S. states, gay marriage still faces an uphill battle in most areas of the country. Should gay marriage be legal in the U.S.?
