Except when it is knowingly ignored by the legislative powers of the
International Community...as is happening right now,with the Palestinian people.
The holocaust of WW2 is gone,over,finished.
We would choose to remember it with more sympathy and respect if it were NOT shoved down our throats constantly,in an attempt to stifle us.
I remember WW2,and the shame humans felt to see how other 'humans' could treat their fellow human beings.
It was a global shame.
But not unique!
Just one of MANY equal horrors throughout history.
But none of that past,stops me from seeing,and acknowledging aloud,that I am seeing the SAME happen again,right now!
The saddest,and hardest,thing to see,is the past victim,becoming the present perpetrator,just as sociopathic and narcissistic.
As if NO LESSON was learned.
No conscience invoked.
No soul enriched.
No heart enlarged.
No memory to act as a barrier,to repetition of the crime.
The more,and the longer,the WW2 holocaust is MARKETED,by those who suffered(or their ancestors),the lesser and cheaper a 'commodity' it becomes in its effectiveness to gain interest or sympathy.
And who's fault is that?
If the Israelis continue their racist,ethnic cleansing,collective punishment,apartheid against the Palestinian people of sixty years and counting already,in the eyes and hearts of the world,their OWN suffering of WW2 will be negated.
It's time for Israel,and the international community,to shake off the past,stop recycling the guilt and displaying it like an old trophy,OR using it as a bitter excuse to presently do FURTHER,and equal harm to others,also undeserving of their pain and suffering.
Whatever the past,that does NOT excuse what is happening at present.
