"Freddie Mac CFO Found Dead in Apparent Suicide
The chief financial officer of the troubled government-backed mortgage giant Freddie Mac has been found dead in an apparent suicide. Police say the body of forty-one-year-old David Kellermann was found hanging in his Virginia home. Kellermann was named Freddie Mac’s acting chief financial officer in September after sixteen years at the company. He came under scrutiny earlier this month after it was revealed he and other top Freddie Mac executives stood to receive some $210 million in bonuses over the next two years."

Looks like PBS has gone completely corporate now(been slipping for a long time from "public" to private.Now CENSORING single-payer health care documentary.TUT!TUT!
I cancelled ALL my contributions to PBS as soon as they started ads/promotions for BP/EXXON etc.

First, I would like to say that I appreciate the information which you have articulated, in a way that is accurate in all that I have learned in my experience and reading (to Grassroots). I have had the good fortune that most seem to be missing. I was raised in a family that was open, compassionate and respectful of others- regardless of race, color, religion or geo-political location. How do we get to the main stream media to change the message that they convey? Does it start with dissolving the myth that those who are richest made it there because they worked the hardest? People in the USA can't even vote for their own economic well being. I'm not sure if they are able to witness reality if they would even be able to make the right judgment. I have had the good fortune of having friends from the Middle East, Central America, Africa, Europe and Asia. I have also been able to travel. Unfortunately, very few can be exposed to the whole world. Somehow, I think our only hope is to get to people through the media. While they sit there watching the so called reality TV and overeating their junk food, contemplating who is going to live the "american dream"- I keep hoping there is a way to change the way they think. What ideas do you have that can get the message across to those less enlightened?

But that's the big stumbling block to getting American people to REALISE what's happening or being done IN THEIR NAME,UNDER THEIR FLAG,and with their MONEY.
For the MOST part:
They are NOT taught about life on the rest of the planet,and how to respect,and permit others to live their lives as they wish,as long as it's NOT OFFENDING,hurting others.
They are NOT taught to really be COMPASSIONATE and HUMBLE,or to LISTEN PATIENTLY and with RESPECT to other/foreign people.
It's as if,the rest of the world HAS TO KNOW THE AMERICAN WAY,if not they must be ignorant and savage.
It's as if foreign people HAVE TO ACCEPT the American way,otherwise they must be our ENEMIES!
Which,of course is arrogant Bovine Excrement!
Our politicians USE AND ABUSE the general ignorance of the US population,to spin a lie and SCATTER BAD INFORMATION,becauase they know that they have SUCCESSFULLY,for the large part,made their populace IGNORANT and NAIVE about the rest of the world,so they CAN SELL/MARKET ANYTHING,and will be believed,and by the time the people GET OUT THERE and realise it's ALL been a lie,AHA,it will be too LATE,and the profits will be in,and the damage done and READY TO BE COVERED UP,because they know how quickly,and eager people are to want to forget and climb back in the 'nice warm cocoon'.
The majority of Americans DON'T have a clue about what lays off our shores,because they NEVER really travel through the planet and live with,eat with,work with,enjoy the company of foreign peoples.Many don't even have,or HAVE NEVER POSSESSED a passport,or NEVER leave the CONTINENT of N.America/Canada/Mexico.
UNLESS,they travel a lot or are in the MILITARY,and even that is a narrow way to see the world,travelling from ONE COCOONED American outpost/fort,with all the comforts of the USA,but very little of the REAL culture in which they are temporarily residing.
To be able to empathise,one has to have been out there,done it,smelt it,felt it,to be ale to fully EMPATHISE.
Or, be able to take what is happening in someone elses life(here or overseas)and find a similarity in your own life and SYMPATHISE with that.
To learn to speak the languages(not just Spanish)to bridge the divide,and SHOW RESPECT,and formulate some spontaneous HUMOR too!
To have learnt the histories of these lands going back thousands of years,and how they come to be as they are NOW,and what they have gone through,seen,done,FOR THOUSANDS of years,not JUST 200-300!
The biggest obstacles to Americans NOT KNOWING are EDUCATION(lacking in broad worldly scope and TOUGH standards),
But the MSM,is CENSORED here,to the point of being STERILE.They assume that certain "images may be disturbing" to the viewer and USE that false concern to block us from the TRUE images,of life and death,that it is our right to see.
They PRESUME TOO MUCH about what we should OR SHOULD NOT see,because often the real-life images show them,the Government/Media,in their true colors after they have WORKED so hard and SPENT so much money on propaganda,to condition us to see SOMETHING more pleasant and 'less disturbing'.
Why do you think SO MANY American troops suffer with PTSD,when they are forced into ILLEGAL invasions and OCCUPATIONS overseas?
It's because they can't cope with the copmplications of REALITY when they've been conditioned to believe its just BAD and GOOD,THEM against US,black or white.They can't deal with the reality of killing INNOCENT people,children,women,indiscrimate (strafe)bombing,chemical warfare,"Shock and Awe"(thinking it's a video GAME or something),and seeing REAL BLOOD and GUTS,limbs,decapitated heads etc on the streets,tiny bodies of kids,old people,animals,sewage,homes destroyed,people sobbing,weeping,shouting at them in foreign languages they KNOW nothing of,just sensing that these "foreigners hate them!!
The most rampant thoughts running through their young,protected,naive minds are:
"It wasn't supposed to be like this".
It's not supposed to end like this".
"We are not supposed to torture and HURT these people like this".
"Why don't they LIKE/WELCOME US,like we were told"?
and the psychological problems of not really knowing WHO THE REAL enemy is.
It's because America is 'cocooned' in an isolationist/censored world,filled with UNREALISTIC fantasy Hollywood/media images that DO NOT actually reflect the REAL WORLD out there. Americans are brought up to believe that this land is the GREATEST,most educated/academic,scientific,modern,most Democratic,politically fair and progressive land on the planet,and despite America's good and great things,it is NOWHERE near all those things.But,because AMNY millions of Americans NEVER leave these shores to travel,see,hear,compare,and the MEDIA is BIASED,CENSORED,STERILISED,they remain naive and unknowing about the rest of the planet.
So,when they are forced off to fight in strange foreign lands(which to the rest of the planet may NOT be so alien and strange because of mobility of populations and changing demographics etc),and are expected to be welcomed with open arms and liberators of Democracy(as conditioned by the MSM),even though they are bearing arms,riding tanks,and BULLYING people into doing things they DON'T REALLY HAVE TO DO,our young boys and girls are all askew,mentally and emotionally,because quite often the imagined scenario DOESN'T match the REAL-LIFE one,and they wonder WHY and how "foreigners" could possibly see them as INVADERS/OCCUPIERS,when they have been conditioned to believe that they are there to "LIBERATE THE SAVAGES FROM OPPRESSION,and bless them with "Democracy" and "freedom".
The ARROGANCE of the American Government overseas,and their PRESUMPTION of privilege is a throwback to the days of the Victorian Colonial Empire days,which assumed that ALL the foreign lands would,or should,welcome them with OPEN arms while they MOVED IN,COLONISED THE LAND,STOLE THE RESOURCES and contained/imprisoned the indigeous peoples in forts,ghettos and concentration camps(long,long before WW1 and WW2.
The propaganda numbs and dumbs OUT,to Americans,the real world outside.
So how cxan they EMPATHISE or SYMPATHISE with something,someone,someplace they NO NOTHING ABOUT,except the false info/lies/stereotypes they have been FED by the propaganda machine,which STARTS IN LOW-SCHOOL!

I have enjoyed all of the commentary here. Much reminds me of Naomi Kline. At one level it truly is incomprehensible that our society has become so complacent in their ability to recognize reality. I have been searching for ways to get through to people without being completely outraged by their patented responses. How can I get through to that rigid person who continually fights everything with a sense of exceptionalism and ignorance. I recently read a book by George Lakoff called "The Political Mind". It contains some very interesting insights into the way we frame our conversations. I think more importantly the way main stream media frames the information. In short, what we are missing in the frames of our minds is a true sense of empathy. If we continue to view our beleifs as exceptional, and accept lies as truth, we will never get this country to seek real solutions.

And will make you think AGAIN about who is responsible for all the mess we are in since 9/11 AND BEFORE.
After watching and listening you will know FOR SURE who the REAL war criminals are and WHO is responsible for 8,000 Americans DEAD and HUNDREDS of thousands injured,maimed and emotionally/psychologically damaged FOR LIFE. And that's EVEN before you get to ALL THE FOREIGN NATIONALS who have suffered and died TOO.
