GLOBAL SPIRIT is a unique inquiry into humankind's belief systems, wisdom traditions and states of consciousness. Hosted by author and spiritual seeker Phil Cousineau and featuring renowned experts such as Deepak Chopra, Karen Armstrong, Robert Thurman, Andrew Harvey, Riane Eisler and many others, this new critically acclaimed series takes viewers on a mind and soul-expanding journey, exploring the relationships between ancient wisdom traditions, diverse belief systems, world religions, metaphysics and modern science.
From the ecstatic state of the Turkish Whirling Dervishes to the personal journeys of American combat veterans who return to Viet Nam in search of forgiveness from their former enemies, GLOBAL SPIRIT blends compelling, experiential film segments with spontaneous, engaging studio conversations to shed light on mankind's deepest questions, tracing the eternal, yet still evolving human quest for meaning, truth and wisdom. Why has the press and viewer feedback to GLOBAL SPIRIT’s first season been so overwhelmingly positive? While there may be many reasons, it is hardly a secret that we are in a time of global economic insecurity and a global environmental crisis. Amidst all this, many people are searching for “Change”. Some are examining the very nature of Change itself - as a force or process that not only occurs from the outside-in. Because when we look more closely, we see that real change most often happens on a human, personal level, and often involves an internal journey. And now, with each program, our viewers enter the realm of the GLOBAL SPIRIT exploring the true depth and breadth of human consciousness and personal and social transformation.
