Israeli Strike on School in Gaza Kills 40
Al Arabiya TV, UAEPresenter, Female #1
The 11th day of the war on Gaza has brought a heavy death toll to the Palestinians. Today, Israel killed dozens of Palestinian civilians, including 30 people who were killed in a single raid near a UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Work Agency) School in Jabalia. Half of the fallen victims were children. The death toll over the past 11 days stands at 635 people. Meanwhile, fierce clashes erupted in the outskirts of Khan Yunis and Deer al-Balah. This news comes after Israel completely surrounded the city of Gaza. According to our al-Arabia correspondent, 8 Israeli soldiers have been wounded, including two with serious injuries, during clashes with Palestinian fighters. Israel admitted that 6 of its soldiers, including two staff sergeants, have been killed and 24 others have been wounded since the invasion of Gaza began.

Everyday, Gaza wakes up and sleeps to images like these. The dark clouds of bombardment have eclipsed the sun from shining over the coastal enclave. For the 11th straight day, Israel continues to bomb the Gaza Strip by air, land, and sea, inflicting more casualties among the civilians. Meanwhile, Israel’s Prime Minister warned that nothing will stop Israel from seeking stability, security, and to protect its citizens. The most notable scene of today’s bombardment was the shelling of schools belonging to the UNRWA, where some families, who fled the fighting, took refuge. Dozens of Palestinians were killed and dozens of others were wounded in bombings that targeted three UN schools: One in the Jabalia Camp in the northern Gaza Strip, another in Rafah, and a third one in Gaza. Meanwhile, Israel intensified its bombing campaign in the Gaza strip, killing and wounding dozens of Palestinian civilians and destroying homes. In addition, 12 people, including an infant, from the same family were killed, after their home came under attack in the Zaytun neighborhood east of Gaza. Fierce clashes erupted on the outskirts of Khan Yunis and Deer al-Balah, after Israel tightened its siege on the city of Gaza. In another devolvement, the occupation army admitted that several of its soldiers were killed and several others were wounded last night. In addition, the Head of the Israeli Paratrooper Brigades, dubbed “Golani,” was reportedly killed in the fighting. However, the Command Center of the Israeli army said that the soldiers were killed during a friendly fire, after an Israeli tank struck a building that was occupied by the army in the northern Gaza Strip. Since the early morning hours, the Palestinian factions have continued to shower Israeli towns and cities with homemade Grad and Qassam rockets. Salim Abu Asila, al-Arabiya.

We will now go directly to our correspondents, Islam Abed-Karim from Gaza and Ziyad Halabi from the Israeli-Gaza border. Welcome to the eight o’clock news. Ziyad, I would like to begin from Israel, with reactions on the killings of more than 40 people in attacks on the UNRWA schools in the Jabalia refugee camp. How can the Israeli army face public opinion inside Israel as well as around the world? Has there been any criticism inside Israel over the targeting of civilians?
Guest, Male #2
No, there has not been any criticism. Israel has already crossed the red line in this war. Israel has bombed 11 mosques and 2 UN schools during the past 24 hours, realizing that many civilians were present. The decision to bomb the schools was issued by the Israeli military, which allows the targeting of any place, where Hamas fighters or leaders may be present. This is how this incident is being played out in Israel. The Israeli media supports Israel’s aggression on the Gaza Strip and justifies all the actions taken by its army.
Israel Uses Unconventional Weapons in Gaza
Press TV, Iran[Summary]
Heavy fighting has erupted between Israeli soldiers and Hamas fighters. Thousands of Israeli troops have moved deeper into Gaza. Israel’s Foreign Minister, Tzipi Livni, has rejected calls by visiting EU diplomats for an immediate ceasefire. During a press conference with the European Delegation Livni declared that attacks against Palestinians in Gaza will continue, blaming Hamas for the violence and saying Israel has acted to defend itself. Doctors on the coastal Gaza strip claim that Israel is using unconventional weaponry on the civilian population in Gaza. Humans hit by these weapons are basically cut into pieces, and if they do survive, they will develop cancer due to these explosives being used by the Israeli military.

An Entire Family Persishes in Gaza
Al-Alam, IranPresenter, FEMALE #1:
The number of Palestinian martyrs on the 11th day of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 642 and there are nearly 2900 others injured. 42 Palestinians were martyred and 60 others were injured in a new Israeli bombing that targeted an school that was being used for Palestinian refugees in the Jabaliya refugee camp in the northern Strip. Five Palestinians were martyred by a bombing of two UNRWA schools in Khan Yunis and the Shata refugee camp. In the Zaytoon neighborhood in eastern Gaza, 12 people from the same family were martyred, including 7 children and 3 women in a bombing that targeted their home.
Reporter, MALE #1:
On the 11th day of the Israeli war, words can not describe the scene in the Gaza Strip. One massacre after another. Even the UN refugee centers are being targeted. Raids and bloodshed during the night and the during day. Martyrs in the northern Strip, Gaza City, Nusayrat,Dier Al Ballah, Wadi Braid, Khan Yunis and Rafah. An entire family was buried under the rubble of its home. The burning Israeli missile melted their bodies under the rubble and above the ground. The number of martyrs is quickly nearing 700 and the injured are in the thousands. The hospitals are unable to keep up with the huge numbers of martyrs and the severity and type of wounds.
Guest, MALE #2:
We heard the sound of a very loud explosion. A fierce fire erupted from it. We were surprised. Mohammed Abu ‘Asker’s house was completely destroyed. The house of the martyr, Eyad Gaddas, was completely destroyed. The house of Abu Naffas Gaddas, where I and nearly 25 other family members live was destroyed.
Reporter, MALE #1:
The intense targeting of homes and the continued bombing of destroyed buildings are meant to terrorize the citizens and target Palestinians in the markets and the streets as well as hospitals, which are not spared from the shrapnel and the sound of missiles. This puts all Palestinians in Gaza within the target range of the Israelis.
Guest, MALE #3:
They want to raise the morale of their soldiers by bombing homes and citizens randomly. We say to them, you came by foot and in your tanks, but you will return in black body bags. This house offered two martyrs and injured people, including three children and two women. We are prepared to give all of our children. We gave up our house and we are willing to give up all that we have and our lives.
Reporter, MALE #1:
Palestinians are not only confronting the Israeli aggression. They are also suffering from the difficulties in obtaining the most basic necessities of life. Families must distribute responsibility amongst one another. Even children go out amidst the Israel bombings and raids. Some of them stand in lines in front of the bakeries. Some of them look for water to drink or a dose of medicine or whatever food they can find.
Guest, MALE #4:
I have been here since the morning so that I can get just a half a loaf of bread for my children and I didn’t get any. I started getting a headache and I can no longer stand, so I am going to leave.
Guest, FEMALE #2:
Despite all this, thank God, we are steadfast even to the last drop of blood in our bodies. God willing, we are steadfast even if we have to wait all day for a loaf of bread. That is no problem for us.
Reporter, MALE #1:
While brothers, friends, and those who claim to be civilized are watching and listening, Israel is using all of its war machinery to kill Palestinians, tearing their bodies apart and destroying all their necessities of life. The siege completes the cycle of aggression, violates Palestinian human rights, and increases their suffering. Mustapha Abdel Hadi. Gaza. Palestine.

The Jordanian Queen, Rania Al Abdullah, demanded for a ceasefire in Gaza for humanitarian reasons. Her heiness called for a press conference which included representatives from the UN who warned about food and health catastrophes in Gaza.

The Jordanian Queen, Rania Al Abdullah, read aloud some of the articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as a reminder to the international community of what has been happening to the children of Gaza.
Guest, Woman # 1
Perhaps the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is not so universal. Perhaps a child in Gaza is not worthy of universal human rights. This is the message that the international community is sending out today. We are standing here with representatives from the UN to share with you the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. It is a humanitarian catastrophe that is not only affecting Gaza, it is also affecting humanity as a whole. Nelson Mandela said, "Our humanity is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians." Today I say to you, “Our humanity is incomplete without them, it is incomplete, and not inclusive; this is my message to the world’s leaders. "Our humanity is incomplete when children, irrespective of nationality, are victims of military operations." 70 children have been killed, and 600 others have been injured. What does the world have to say to their mothers; to the Palestinian mother who lost her five daughters in one day? To the mother that has been watching her children weep, tremble from fear, and hide. They have been subjected to psychological shock that one should not experience in one’s lifetime. Can we say to this mother that her losses are collateral damages, can we say to her that their lives are not important, that their deaths do not count, that the children of Gaza are not entitled to life, freedom, and personal safety? What can we say to her?
Doctors Try to Enter Gaza to Treat the Injured
Nile TV, EgyptPresenter, MALE #1:
Dr. Hatim Al Gabali, the minister of health and housing, visited the Rafah border crossing, which is closed and forcing the ambulances to stop there. He expressed his gratitude to the team of doctors and emergency units for the unique efforts they exerted to treat the Palestinians injured in the past 11 days. Dr. Gabali reiterated that Egypt is prepared to receive any number of injured and wounded Palestinians for treatment in Egyptian hospitals. He indicated that the number of the patients that were received through the Rafah Border Crossing since the start of Israeli aggression on Gaza has reached 151. Most of them are being treated in Egyptian hospitals. 32 patients have been transferred to Arab countries for treatment, including 20 patients to Saudi Arabia; 8 patients to Jordan and 4 patients to Libya.
Presenter, MALE #1:
Under the framework of Egypt’s continued efforts to ease the suffering of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, Egypt received a new wave of injured Palestinians for treatment in Egyptian hospitals. They include 20 injured people and 12 tons of medical aid which was provided to the Strip through the Rafah crossing.
Presenter, FEMALE #1:
This comes as a delegation from the Egyptian Doctors Union and the Arab Doctors Union arrived at the Rafah border crossing on their way to the Gaza Strip to treat the Palestinian wounded and to coordinate the patients’ departure from the Strip.

Words can’t describe the medical situation in Gaza. This situation has compelled 45 volunteer doctors with their medical equipment to go to the Rafah crossing in order to enter Gaza.
Guest, Man # 2
We came along with Arab doctors to help our besieged brothers in Gaza. They are being subjected to bombardment day and night. This is the least we can do for our besieged brothers who came under attack in Gaza.
Guest, Man # 3
We are doing our duty as doctors. God helped me become a doctor so I can rescue people regardless of who they are: Arabs, foreigners, Muslims, Christians of Jews or anyone else. What is important is that I rescue the people in need because we are all humans.
Reporter, Man # 1
These doctors are determined to enter Gaza knowing that their personal safety is at stake.
Guest, Man # 3
Many of my colleagues have a strong desire to go Gaza. We have written petitions and submitted them to the Egyptian health ministry. We accept all the risks and we are ready to go to Gaza at our own responsibility.
Reporter, Man # 1
Humanitarian aid through the Rafah crossing does not stop. Aid caravans from Egypt and Arab countries continue to enter Gaza one after the other. People young and old are more than willing to do anything.
Guest, Man # Child
I wish to go and fight with children in Gaza and protect them.
Guest, Man # 5
I brought some aid and thank God they entered Gaza. I called to see if they received the aid and thank God the aid arrived to them. This is the least we can do for our families in Palestine. I have been here since 2 AM and the bombings that I have seen are nerve racking.
Reporter, Man # 1
Gaza is wounded and it is bleeding but all of us are in pain. Everyone came here from different areas trying to do everything they can to heal this wound. This however depends on how things unfold on the other side of this crossing point. From the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing, Ahmad Najeeb Ameil, Egyptian news channel.
World Masses Protest Gaza Massacre
New TV, LebanonPresenter, MALE, #1
Protests expressing solidarity with Gaza are spreading across the world’s nations, and the Israeli flag is being burnt and stomped upon.
Reporter, FEMALE, #1
Protests condemning Israeli crimes against the Palestinians stretched across many capitals of the world as Israeli aggression continued for the 10th day. The streets of Manila, the capital of the Philippines, witnessed a demonstration supporting the people of Gaza. The demonstrators condemned the Zionists’ crimes, describing Israel as a Terrorist. Some of the women demonstrators carried caskets for the children martyred in Gaza. The Australians held a race on the streets of Sydney in solidarity with Gaza. South Korea was not far from the events in Gaza either. Protestors on the streets of Seoul carried banners calling for a stop to the killings and saving Palestine, and showed pictures of children martyred in Gaza. In Thailand, a number of protestors demonstrated outside the Israeli Embassy in Bangkok. They repeated phrases describing Israel as the Greatest Satan. What was noticeable about that particular demonstration was the raising of Hassan Nassrallah’s picture. In Jakarta, the Indonesians redrew the Palestinian flag with their names. Spain witnessed demonstrations in Barcelona, Madrid, and Majorca, supporting the Palestinians. Protestors lit candles for the martyrs of Gaza, while others burnt the Israeli flag and stepped on it. On the other side of the planet, in Washington DC, a demonstration took place outside the congress calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and a swift Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza strip. New Orleans, Michigan, and Chicago also witnessed similar demonstrations in which terrible pictures were carried, showing the Israeli slaughter of Gaza’s children.
