Bio:
Hi I'm Mary, a Journalism, and Fiction Writing student at Columbia College Chicago. I'm a single mother of two currently living on the south side of Chicago. My goal is to shed light on the lives of our children here. Teenagers have been dying left and right where I'm from for years. At the age of twelve I had at least three friends die. The number continued to grow as I grew. I'm watching the cycle repeat through my sons. I fear for their lives as well. I'm hoping that somehow I can make people understand that it's the environment that's killing our children, and turning them into killers as well. We need to come together and change the world we bring them into.
