Fahmi F. Farahat
Bio:
Fahmi Farouk Farahat, a young Saudi filmmaker, first started as a TV talent in an English program on channel 2, Saudi Arabia, when he was 15 year old. After finishing a 2 year diploma in Computer programming, Farahat moved to the US and found him self persuading a career as a filmmaker. He graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in Radio, Film & TV in 2006.
Since 2003, Farahat has been involved in over 30 productions as a director, producer, actor, and editor among other crew work. These productions included independent and student films, music videos, news segment, in studio productions and commercials.
In 2005 he directed and produced the independent short film titled “Allegory of the Cave" shot on 16mm and in 2006, Farahat Directed a 35mm short entitled “Beyond the Fence” as his graduate project and was the first 35mm project his school had ever produced. It won best film at the CSUF TV/Film Society awards and was picked up by Zahra Pictures for distribution. Prior to that, Farahat has also won an award for Best News Segment: “Resonance Clothing” at the CSUF TV/Film Society Awards and other awards in journalism and human relations.
Fahmi Farahat currently finished a feature length Documentary entitled: ”Saudis in America” Produced by Zahra Pictures and 3 shorts entitled "A Father Taken" "Ahmad's X-Mas Carol" and "Eid El-Um" (Mother's Day).
