Bio:
Laura Plotkin is a Bay Area documentary producer/director. She creates work that uses personal narrative to challenge mainstreams stereotypes. Her Rockefeller nominated film, Red Rain, which chronicles the life of female boxer Gina"Boom Boom" Guidi, has screened in over a hundred film festivals world wide as well as aired on television both nationally and abroad. Her most current film, Murder Triptych, explores the homicide of an Oakland resident. Laura received her bachelors in cinema/film production from San Francisco State University and her MFA from California College of Art. Currently Laura has just completed writing her first screenplay.
