Irfan Rydhan
Bio:
Irfan Rydhan is a "Multi-Media" Muslim Activist who lives in the Bay Area. He is an Architectural designer by profession (B.A. Architecture, 1997 U.C. Berkeley), but a passionate enthusiast in media arts and activism. His background includes non-profit management, film/video production and graphic art/design.
He is the Host and Executive Producer of "Muslim Round Table Television" (www.MuslimRoundTable.tv ) and co-founder of Jam-Productions.Com: An International Video/Film Company ( www.jam-productions.com).
"Muslim Round Table Television" (MRT) is a discussion television talk show, which focuses on the four main mountains of society: Religion and Culture, Politics and Government, Business and Commerce, and Science and Technology. This one of a kind 30 min. program originally aired only locally in the Bay Area, but is now airing nationwide (and in Canada) on the first American-Muslim satellite channel: Bridges TV ( www.Bridges.tv).
"Jam-Productions.Com" was the first Muslim owned independent video and film production company in the Bay Area, which started in 1998. Irfan, along with his partner Javaid Malik, created several Muslim themed projects, most notable was the 45 min. documentary: "The Aftermath: American-Muslims After Sept. 11 th" which aired locally in San Jose and Oakland television channels as well as was featured in the ISNA Film Festival in Chicago in 2003. Irfan also serves on the Board of Directors for the South Bay Islamic Association (SBIA) in San Jose, CA and was one of the founding members of the SBIA Media Committee, which conducts training programs and classes on how to effectively interact with the Media in it's coverage of issues relating to Islam and Muslims in the Bay Area.
