Ten years ago, Billy Golfus, an award-winning radio journalist, suffered brain damage in a motor scooter accident and became one of 43 million Americans with disabilities. Following his release from the hospital, Billy struggled for eight years to complete a regimen of rehabilitation, earn a Master's degree and study Japanese. In this irreverent, first person road movie, he meets disabled people around the country, and witnesses the strength and anger that is forging a new civil rights movement for disabled Americans. An entertaining program about disability, civil rights, and the search for intelligent life after brain damage. Winner of the 1995 Sundance Film Festival Freedom of Expression Award.
