Prayers For Burma
Far from Burma, as you might expect after the regime's brutal crackdown, some of the monks involved in the demonstrations have fled into neighbouring Thailand. But last week David O'Shea was across the border when three monks completed the long trek out of their closed country.

Michelle Bachelet Interview
A couple of weeks back, George Negus got lucky and met a world leader of the better-than-bland variety here for APEC, one that actually made him sit up and take notice, a pleasant change. Outside of politics, this very different pollie is a paediatrician, a single parent, an agnostic in a Catholic country, a political activist who survived prison and torture and then went on to become the Socialist President of Chile. About International Dateline

SBS Dateline, which began in 1984, is Australia's longest-running international current affairs program. It has a well-earned reputation for authoritative and incisive reporting. Dateline has taken the traditional way of producing TV current affairs and turned it on its head. Reporters who used to travel with a cameraperson and sound recordist now travel alone and have the responsibility of both filming and reporting their stories. The reporters became video-journalists, gaining access to people and places that the conventional camera crews cannot.
