A special Deutsche Welle commemorative broadcast of the German Symphonic Orchestra in Berlin, recorded on September 11, 2002. Conducted by Kent Nagano, the orchestra plays a complete rendition of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. Shown prior to the beginning of the performance are a short video sequence marking the anniversary of the tragedy, and excerpts from a memorial ceremony, including remarks by Dan Coats, U.S. Ambassador to Germany, and officials of the German government.
