Thirty-three years ago, a young woman named Monika gave her child up for adoption. She flew to the United States where she gave birth to a daughter. As time passed, feelings of guilt arose, accompanied by a growing longing to see her child again. After a search lasting many years, Monika finally flew to New York to meet her daughter, Dale. Dale, who was adopted by a Jewish family and practises Judaism, is today a star lawyer. For her part, Dale had also mounted a search for her natural mother. A story with a happy end, perhaps?
