Philipp is a 13-year-old patient with a life-threatening condition at the German Heart Institute Berlin. One night he needed to undergo an emergency operation to insert an artificial heart. The operation was only a temporary solution, as a transplant is all that will help Philipp in the long-term. Doctors, nurses, and fellow patients give Philipp tremendous medical and psychological support. His parents and brother are also constantly at his side, staying in the 'Ronald McDonald House.' The children's charity of the same name ensures that seriously-ill children are not alone during their treatment.
