A special Deutsche Welle report on how China's economic and political reforms are changing people's lives, for better or for worse. The film crew visited the huge Three Gorges dam, currently under construction on the Yangtze River in central China. Entire villages, towns and even cities were re-located to accommodate the project. They also visited Shanghai, the dynamic new economic center that's earned itself the nickname "The Dragon's Head."
