Test tube babies are facing an uncertain future. Hundreds of thousands are currently stored in laboratory freezers. They represent a human commodity, for which there is a great demand world-wide. Embryos and fetuses are cloned to harvest the embryos' stem cells for use in medical therapies. The ethical question as to whether human life should be used for medical research is gaining greater urgency.
