"We must get to know each other better, then we can understand each other better, trust each other more, and co-exist more peacefully."

This was the principle that led 125 Buddy Bears to undertake a world tour. Each of the artistically painted polyester furs represents a nation. All together, they call themselves the "United Buddy Bears". An unusual journey, because each of the bear-like envoys is two metres tall. On their stops in Berlin, Kitzbühel, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Seoul, and Sydney they meet Jackie Chan and, in Tokyo, the German President – before returning to Berlin in time for the 2006 World Cup.
