Women are still very much under-represented in the world of conducting, but now there is a whole new generation of female conductors waiting in the wings. This documentary features the internationally acclaimed American conductor Marin Alsop, Catherine Rückwardt, general music director of the Staatstheater in Mainz, and the aspiring, freelance conductor Cornelia von Kerssonbrock. The film takes us behind the scenes with the women during rehearsals at London's Royal Albert Hall, Frankfurt's Alten Oper, and the Mainz Staatstheater.  It includes interviews with the three women in which they discuss their careers.
