Top journalists speak out about the American news coverage of war and politics since Sept. 11, 2001. The film probes how government sources were able to use the disaster and its aftermath of fear to minimize journalists' watchdog role while encouraging them to adopt pro-administration perspectives, by exploiting some reporters’ willingness to sacrifice independence for access. The interviewees are mainstream broadcast and print journalists who explore the challenges of reporting from the battlegrounds of Iraq to the corridors of the State Department, and bring insight into the current state of American democracy.
