Foreign Exchange is a weekly, half-hour international affairs series, hosted by noted author, journalist and international commentator, Fareed Zakaria. The series probes the global questions of the moment from a profound, new perspective and examines America's role in an increasingly complex and interdependent world. This episode include four segments:
Roundtable: Hope for Darfur?
One of the world’s worst humanitarian crises has been unfolding in Sudan’s western region of Darfur. Human rights groups and the US Congress say its genocide, although the United Nations has stopped short of using that term. A recent African mini-summit in Tripoli sought to plot a path toward peace for Sudan's war-torn Darfur region when peace talks resume between rebels and the government on May 30. Fareed Zakaria is joined by Ambassador Khidir Haroun Ahmed from Sudan and Dr. Hashim El-Tinay, a native of Sudan, and founder of the Salam Sudan Foundation.
In Focus: Fuel for the Future?
