The non-partisan California Election Protection Network organized the Election Integrity Emergency Town Hall Meeting to disseminate information regarding the United States' electoral system in crisis and what we can do about it. San Diego, California was chosen since it is a microcosm of the national election situation.
Actor and social change activist, Ed Asner hosts a panel of National Election Integrity luminaries, including Bev Harris, founder of BlackBoxVoting; national sportscaster and Huffington Post blogger Jim Lampley; national Election Integrity attorneys Paul Lehto and Lowell Finley; Green Party Secretary of State candidate and Election Integrity advocate Forrest Hill; as well as whistleblowers Bruce Funk, of Utah, and Patti Newton, of California.
Despite evidence that our elections are illegitimate, the panelists argue that we must continue to vote, to monitor the vote, and to monitor the counting of the vote and fight to preserve our basic rights. They offer concrete examples of what citizens across the state and nation must do. This issue is fundamental to true democracy.
