Special: Human Cost of War - Featuring "I Know I'm Not Alone" with Special Guest Michael Franti
Armed with an acoustic guitar and a video camera, musician Michael Franti takes us on a musical journey through war and occupation in Iraq, Israel, and Palestine. Along the way he shares his music with families, doctors, musicians, soldiers and everyday people who in turn reveal to him the often overlooked human cost of war.
First impressions of Baghdad are the tremendous lack of security, no electricity, no clean water and an immense amount of bombed buildings. But in the making of "I Know I'm Not Alone" Michael and his group are welcomed with generosity and kindness by everyone from proud Iraqi families and youth, sick hospital patients to U.S. occupation forces all wanting to share their stories and just hear music to take a break from the stress and suffering.
Also airing as part of this special presentation of "I Know I'm Not Alone" are in-studio discussions and a special performance by Michael Franti.
