The Airbus flies from one valley into the next, breathtakingly close to houses, after which it lands safely on the runway of Paro. For Lars Möhrring from Germany, this daring undertaking is a daily job. He has been a chief pilot of the small Bhutanese airline DrukAir for two years, because, he says, he loves adventure. In addition it gives him a lot of time to explore the exotic last remaining kingdom in the Himalayas, a state that has promised its subjects happiness – and imposed democracy on them.
