The situation in Afghanistan is growing more critical and the democratization process is hardly making any progress. Women particularly are subjected to constant discrimination. Not even female members of parliament are immune from injustice and attacks - some have even received murder threats. The majority of Afghan men reject women in public positions engaging in political issues. The situation has deteriorated badly and forced politically active women to take their struggle underground.
