For seventeen years Jean-Claude Kibala, a native Congolese, lived in Germany. After his officer’s training with the German army, he became a civil engineer and started a family. But at some point Kibala could no longer bear watching the suffering in his native country. In 2007 he went back. He stood for election and became deputy-governor of his home province of South Kivu. Since then nothing has been as it was. With German thoroughness Jean-Claude Kibala is trying to create order in the middle of a war.
